Tomatoes

Tomatoes

I made up my mind earlier this year that I wouldn’t be growing tomatoes. Our youngest daughter’s wedding was booked for July this year and we, plus our nearby family, would be away from home. Summertime, with no family to tend them, and not wanting to put the chore onto friends, I decided it would be best to just give them a miss this year.

But we all know that many weddings have suffered due to the current, awful situation that the county, and indeed the world is in. Our daughter and her fiancé made the Continue reading “Tomatoes”

Six on Saturday 2020 21-03

This has been a difficult and emotional week for most of us. Covid-19 has occupied our thoughts, and there’s been no escaping from it. My husband and I are social distancing because of our age. The first job I tackled on Monday morning was Continue reading “Six on Saturday 2020 05-03”

a Garden Centre lunch

Just to be clear from the start – this isn’t a post about food! It’s a post about Garden Centres, plants, and a lack of will power. On Wednesday I lunched with my two sisters. Mostly the food isn’t particularly brilliant, and the cakes are much too large, but we’re not really there for the food, we’re there to catch up with each other’s news and we know that if we want to chat for hours, no one will notice Continue reading “Six on Saturday 2020 29-02”
